iPhone Mirroring on macOS Tahoe 26 in Europe: Mirror & Control Your iPhone

Published August 2026 · Compatible with macOS Tahoe 26, Sequoia 15, Sonoma 14 & iOS 26

With the release of macOS Tahoe 26 and iOS 26, Apple’s built-in wireless iPhone Mirroring remains unavailable for European Union accounts (Apple Support Document 120421). MirrorUE provides a high-performance, local USB alternative allowing you to mirror and interact with your physical iPhone directly from your Mac anywhere in the world.

The Current State of iPhone Mirroring in the EU (2026)

Under the Digital Markets Act (DMA), Apple’s proprietary wireless mirroring protocol is restricted in the 27 EU member states. When attempting to launch Apple iPhone Mirroring with an EU Apple Account, macOS displays:

“iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region.”

MirrorUE is a standalone, local native macOS application. It does not rely on Apple ID cloud tokens, Bluetooth proximity beacons, or regional entitlement servers. It connects over standard high-speed USB using CoreMediaIO video capture and CoreDevice UniversalHID input routing.

How the 120 FPS Video Pipeline Works

Unlike network compression streaming apps that introduce high latency and compression artifacts, MirrorUE operates a zero-copy direct rendering pipeline:

CoreMediaIO (USB Frame Stream)
  ↳ CVPixelBuffer
    ↳ IOSurface (Shared Hardware Buffer)
      ↳ Metal Texture (Zero-Copy)
        ↳ CAMetalLayer @ 120 Hz ProMotion Presentation

Quick Start on macOS Tahoe 26

  1. Download MirrorUE.dmg (Universal binary for Apple Silicon & Intel).
  2. Drag MirrorUE.app to your /Applications folder.
  3. Connect your iPhone with a USB-C or Lightning cable and tap “Trust This Computer”.
  4. Launch MirrorUE — your iPhone screen will stream instantly at up to 120 FPS with full mouse and keyboard interaction.
